At Friendship Inn, we see firsthand how small acts of kindness create a ripple effect of generosity. One of the most inspiring examples of this is the incredible team at Peter Lucas, whose commitment to giving back has grown into something truly special. What began as an individual effort in 2022 has flourished into a collective initiative, bringing together employees, family, friends, and partners to support our mission of providing warm, nourishing meals to those facing food insecurity.
Each time the Peter Lucas team steps into our kitchen, they bring more than just helping hands. They bring energy, compassion, and a willingness to serve. With music playing and teamwork in action, they chop, cook, and serve alongside our dedicated staff, making every meal a labor of love. Their volunteers come from all backgrounds—CEOs, project managers, designers, administrators, and retirees—united by a shared purpose: to make a difference.
“To see the magnitude of work that goes into serving such a large and diverse group on a daily basis is impressive, humbling, and overwhelming.” —Tammy Ceaser, Peter Lucas Employee & Friendship Friday Organizer

For many of our guests, a warm meal is more than just food—it’s comfort and connection. A friendly smile and a simple conversation can mean the world to someone facing challenges, and we are grateful to Peter Lucas for being part of this experience.
Over time, this volunteer effort has grown into a movement. Peter Lucas has inspired other companies, including Team Power Solutions, MyComply, Morris Interactive, Nutrien, and K+S, to join in making a difference. Together, they have served over 3,800 meals and prepared an astounding 8,000 sandwiches—a testament to what happens when people come together for a cause.
We are truly thankful for Peter Lucas and everyone who has stepped forward to support our mission. Your kindness, commitment, and generosity are felt by every person who walks through our doors. Thank you for making an impact—one meal, one smile, and one act of kindness at a time.
