Shoshannah Andrews

At the heart of the Friendship Inn is a community of selfless individuals who give their time to make a difference and make meals happen. One of those individuals is Shoshannah Andrews, who has been volunteering with us for nearly three years.

“I’ve always had a heart for helping others,” Shoshannah shares. “I wanted to do something within my community that gave me a real look into people’s day-to-day lives who are struggling in our city.” That desire to truly understand and support those in need is what first led her to the Inn, and it’s what keeps her coming back.

For Shoshannah, the most powerful moments aren’t always grand gestures or singular stories. Rather, it’s the simple, everyday interactions that leave the biggest impact. “There isn’t a specific story that stands out to me,” she says, “but I’m always glad when I see smiling faces during the lunch service. Despite the struggles that people are facing, there are still moments of joy, and that, to me, is memorable.”

Her time at the Inn has also been deeply humbling. Seeing firsthand the challenges faced by those in our community has given her a greater appreciation for what she has—and a renewed sense of purpose in giving back. “Being able to show up and give my time, and to see how that impacts the patrons of the Inn, is the most rewarding part for me,” she reflects.

Shoshannah, your kindness and dedication truly embody the spirit of the Friendship Inn. Thank you for being a light in our community!

Helping hands make every meal happen here at the Inn. Whether you’re helping with food prep or delivering meal trays, we rely on great people for volunteer power.
