Individuals volunteer at the Inn as a way to give back and connect to the community. Volunteers are essential for the Friendship Inn to assist those in need of help and include adult students, retirees, business people and even some of our guests who eat at the Inn.
We have volunteer space, 7 days a week with various opportunities: food preparation, serving meals, cleaning and other jobs as needed. Currently we have three shifts to help fit within your schedule: Breakfast 7:30-9:30; Lunch: 11:30-1:30 or all day: 7:30-2:30.
Once you have been through the application process, scheduling volunteer time is easy and flexible. Use the “Schedule Your Time” form on the sidebar anytime you want to schedule in. It allows you to book several days and select the shifts that work best for you.
If you are a new volunteer, the application process is as follows:
- Submit a Volunteer Application Form (find this on the side of this menu)
- Complete a Criminal/Vulnerable Sector Records Check with the Saskatoon Police. (Find online at: Criminal/Vulnerable Sector Records Check Form, also you can drop by the Friendship Inn and ask for one or once you fill out your Volunteer Form a link will be provided in your confirmation email.)
- Read and sign our waiver form: Volunteer Waiver (You can also ask for this form at our receptionist desk the first time you volunteer, and we would be happy to provide a hard copy for you to sign.)
- Reading through our Volunteer Handbook will give you a good sense of how the Friendship Inn Volunteer Program works.
We also invite you at anytime to come and do one shift with us to see if volunteering at the Inn is a good fit for you. Contact the Operations / Program Manager at 306-242-5122, ext. 5 to set this up.
For volunteers that have already gone through the sign-up process and now you want to volunteer, please use the “Schedule Your Time” button on the sidebar to book your days and shifts.
