Second Chance Food
The Friendship Inn is part of a committee, Second Chance Food, which is dedicated to reducing food waste in Saskatoon. Second Chance Food seek to advocate for and enable mechanisms that increase donations of surplus food, and encourage a more sustainable food system in our city.
Food Renew helps to reduce food waste by working with local food businesses. Food Renew Volunteers rescue food from businesses and deliver to one of many community groups or organizations in the city who can put it to great use.
Saskatoon Food Council
The Saskatoon Food Council’s mandate is to improve Saskatoon’s food economy, enrich our food culture, and reduce hunger in Saskatoon.
Saskatchewan Waste Reduction Council
Saskatchewan Waste Reduction Council works toward a waste-free Saskatchewan by providing information, encouraging partnerships and promoting solutions.
Saskatoon Poverty Reduction Partnership
The Saskatoon Poverty Reduction Partnership is a collaborative group of community partners from across sectors, demographics and experiences. SPRP believes that everyone should be able to develop their talents and abilities, have the choice to actively participate in an economic, cultural & social life, and enjoy a good standard of living on a sustainable basis. They believe that there is urgency in this work, and that everybody has a role to play in eliminating poverty in Saskatoon.
